About the Internship
This summer, as a UX Research Intern at JLL-Technologies, I contributed to projects including a website redesign, Carbon Pathfinder, and Canopy.

I conducted user interviews, participated in stakeholder meetings, and assisted with heuristic evaluations and qualitative research.
My main focus was auditing the design system, identifying usability challenges, and providing actionable recommendations. I led my own project from scoping to presentation of findings to stakeholders.
Exploratory Research
I conducted exploratory research through coffee chats with eight design team members across various products and roles at JLL-T.
My goal was to understand their workflows, tools, collaboration methods, and challenges. Using a structured set of questions, I identified pain points, resources, and team dynamics.
Research Question
This UX Research project explores
How effectively does the current design system at JLL-T support the daily workflows and productivity of its users across different roles and teams?
Goals
I engaged with key stakeholders, including the DS manager, their team, and the principal UX researcher, to understand their needs.
Explore Component Resuability and Adaptability
Identify feedback channel improvements
Develop processes to incorporate feedback
Methodology- Generative Research
I conducted interviews with 8 users of varying familiarity with the design system to gather feedback on its impact.
I also designed a generative workshop to observe real-time system usage, testing it with a dry run to ensure it stayed within the expected timeframe.

Research Synthesis- Affinity Mapping
I took detailed notes and recorded meetings for transcription in Dovetail. I then analyzed the responses, created affinity maps, and highlighted key findings.

Impact and Reflections
The transition to the new design system (DS) at JLL-T faced challenges, including missing code for developers and a lack of timely feedback from designers.
My research identified key issues and easy-to-fix solutions, which I presented to the team.
This led to improved understanding of the DS's challenges and practical steps for enhancing its adoption, making the system more effective for designers and developers.
